According to the American Lung Association, indoor air quality can be up to five times worse than the outside air. Chemical pollutants, product off-gassing and poor ventilation are the primary culprits.
Lessening your environmental impact is as easy as choosing Silestone.
Silestone quartz is a certified green product certified by the Greenguard Institute and qualifies for LEED green building credits. Proven to not off-gas throughout its lifetime, Silestone is a boon for indoor air quality.
Naturally non-porous, Silestone will also never require chemical sealers to come between you and your countertops. These sealers are needed on a yearly basis for most granites and stone products to prevent staining.
Silestone is fabricated at Klein's Custom Countertops using state of the art water recycling and reclamation systems to lessen our footprint. Silestone remnants are recycled into MURO tiles.
Naturally non-porous and protected by Microban, Silestone is the world's cleaner, zero-maintenance countertop.
Most countertop staining and bacterial contamination occurs because of tiny scratches or microscopic pores in a countertop surface. Stains and bacteria seep down into these fissures and are very hard to remove.
Scratching is a problem with laminates and solid surface counters while pores are a huge issue for granite and other stone products.
Laminate and solid surface products are very susceptible to scratching. Granite and marble, while more resistant to scratching, are filled with millions of open pores that require annual sealing and treatment to prevent contamination
Silestone's Quartz is the fourth hardest mineral on earth and is extremely hard to scratch. Because it is naturally non-porous, Silestone does not require sealing to prevent staining and bacterial contamination.
Silestone IS the cleaner countertop, because on top of these naturally clean qualities, it also features Microban antimicrobial protection. This prevents all bacteria, mold, mildew or microbial growth on any Silestone surface.
If a countertop isn't safe enough to cook on in your local restaurants why would you want your family using it in your home?
Quartz (kwortz) n
The world’s most abundant mineral resource. Composed of silica Si02, it is the fourth hardest mineral in existence and is found in many different types of rocks, including sandstone and granite.
Quartz is a naturally occurring mineral that comes in sizes ranging from small gravel to huge gemstones. It is used in many different applications throughout the world.
Granite and other stone countertops strength and durability are actually derived from their quartz content. Quartz content in granite can range from 25 to 45 percent. Granite, in fact, is not a single product. It is actually thousands of different stone products with varying levels of quartz and other minerals. This is why some types of granite are very fragile and easily broken while others are more durable.
